Meditation is continuous flow of awareness without the identity of self.
SamadhiOffer complete self to higher self. Surrender completely. This is the only way to Samadhi. One may do millions of Pranayama or meditate for thousands of hours, but the self realization will not happen as long as lower self is not completely lost.Samadhi happens.Stop chasing the experiences others describe. Look for answers within, experience yourself. Don't chase your experiences too. All experiences are past, let them go. Try to live in present moment. Present moment is too minute to be measured. By the time one is able to measure present moment one has already realized higher self. When one is centered in present, consciousness of time ceases to exist. There are some techniques which may act as stepping stone to move towards Samadhi like:1. Let go of everything. Any thought, any action, even breath, let them go, detach from everything completely.2. Pranayama making inhaling breath length equal to exhaling breath length.3. Visualize a candle flame between the eyebrows and merge with it, be one with it.4. Keep asking yourself for each and every action of yours that "is this going to help me in anyway moving towards self realization?" and if the answer is 'no' let it go, detach from it. When one is sufficiently advanced, answer will be 'no' to everything.5. Just be aware. No decision, no logic, no action, nothing, just pure awareness. Spiritual life starts only after one attains Samadhi.
Without observing Yama and Niyama, anything practiced is just mechanical. As long as one does not follow Yama and Niyama, there will not be any progress.
